Please read through the following procedure carefully – it sets out every step you need to take to secure a job through us. This service is always free of charge for students.

Create your account easily via our website. Afterwards, you need to visit our office to verify your identity and student status. As a university group, this verification is required. We will also explain our placement conditions to you in detail.

Take a look at our job catalogue – all currently available jobs are listed there. The catalogue is updated daily. Please ensure that you meet all the requirements listed in the job advertisement (including language skills) before you apply for a placement. Then make a note of the job IDs of the vacancies for which you would like to be considered.

Show current job offers

Have you found one or more suitable jobs? Great! There are four different ways to request placement:

Please pop into our office at Mommsenstraße 5 during our opening hours. This is the best way to do it, as it allows us to answer any questions you may have about our services or our placement scheme.

Please call us on 0155 65 750 249 during opening hours

Send us an email at info@stav-dresden.de

Request the placement online via your profile.

Please note! A job referral does not mean that you will actually get the job – you still need to take the following steps.

As soon as you submit a placement request, our staff will check whether you meet the requirements for the job; we may still have some questions for you at this stage. If you are suitable, we will place you in the role. You will then receive an email outlining the next steps and an important document: the "Abrechnung".

The "Abrechnung" includes the employer’s contact details and their preferred method of contact. You must now get in touch with the employer within 3 working days and then go through the application process they require.

Have you got the job? Congratulations – we’re really happy for you! Please let us know that you’ve got the job. You can pop into our office, give us a call or send us an email. In any case, you’ll need to hand the "Abrechnung" over to your employer, as they must fill out this document at the end of your employment – or within six months at the latest – and send it to us.

Have you received a rejection or no response at all? We’re very sorry to hear that. Please do let us know in this case too, either by popping into our office, giving us a call or sending us an email. Perhaps a new suitable vacancy has been posted in our online job catalogue in the meantime – do have a look!

Placement conditions

Before we can place you, you must agree to our placement conditions. These conditions apply to all placements handled via STAV. Please read them carefully and contact us if you have questions, as violations can lead to a profile suspension.

  1. A placement is not an employment contract and does not guarantee that an employment contract will be concluded.
  2. After placement, the student must contact the employer within 3 working days and inform STAV e.V. about the current application status.
  3. STAV e.V. assumes no liability for the content of job postings. Therefore, questions about exact tasks, pay, or place/time of work must be clarified with the employer in advance.
  4. If an employment relationship is established, the 'Abrechnung' must be completed by the employer after completion of the work or by the accounting deadline (6 months after the first working day) and sent to STAV e.V.
  5. When completing the 'Abrechnung', special care must be taken that work time and payment amount are entered truthfully by the employer.
  6. STAV e.V. is entitled to request documents and information about the employment relationship for data verification if needed.
  7. If no employment relationship is established, STAV e.V. must be informed immediately with reasons.
  8. If the student cannot prove that cancellation of a placement was not their fault, or if STAV e.V. is informed too late or not at all, this leads to an 'S-cancellation' (self-caused cancellation).
  9. Students are themselves responsible for compliance with legal restrictions and regulations when taking up work.
  10. Any claims (e.g. wage claims, travel costs, loss of working time) are not assumed by STAV e.V. in any case.
  11. All information about employers is confidential. If this data is shared with third parties or passed on otherwise, legal consequences may apply.
